I love covers. I love the original even more but sometimes a slight tweak can make a big difference to a great song or transform a mediocre song into one you can’t get out of your head (in a good way). One of my favorite songs is Blackbird by the Beatles. This Crosby, Stills and Nash cover at Woodstock gives it a whole new spin that has me humming.

That was the best way ever to kick off Christmas morning. Beautiful. I love this cover. And unlike you I tend to abhor covers as a rule. But CSN can’t really ruin anything now can they.

It depends on the cover for me. Some manage to mangle a good thing, like movie sequels - when will they learn? Others can take a bad song and make it beeeeeeetter. Sorry. Beatle moment there.
