Summer of Love 2007

by Jennifer on August 27th, 2007

“Truth and individual freedom. Freedom of expression. Creativity, love and respect for all things. Freedom for an individual to make a choice - sexually, spiritually and socially. The right to be different and still belong. Honor in refusing to fight without judging those who did. Our right to make a difference. Our right to think independently. Our willingness to share with others.”

~ Message from 2007 Summer of Love

September 2, 2007 is the big old Summer of Love celebration 2007 style. If you’re going to be anywhere in the vicinity of San Francisco on the 2nd; I’d hit this for sure.

The celebration is at Speedway Meadows, Golden Gate Park and it’s free, a nice price.

There are some folk there I would like to see. Sadly I will not be in the area. But if you are or if you’re up for a little end of summer road trip it would be worth it.

Seeing the original Taj Mahal line-up would be amazing - but how many are alive? (rip Jesse Ed Davis, I think.) The real scoop is all of Moby Grape. If they can play anything like they did 40 years ago, that would be amazing to see. (Check out YouTube for a clip of them on the Mike Douglas Show - phenomenal!

Actually, I think it would be cool to see Stephen Gaskin and the original Hair cast. I’m fans of both. I’m betting that no matter who is alive or dead the whole show will be a great event. I’ll look for that clip though. Thanks for the heads up :)

I wish I could be there. Can you watch it on TV or the internet?

I’m betting it’ll make news, and You Tube and all of that. As for planned tv; I don’t know. I also don’t watch much though so there could be a fantastic spectacular planned and I’d have no clue.
