SIRIUS Satellite Radio Launches Exclusive Grateful Dead Channel

by Jennifer on September 18th, 2007

grateful dead channelGood new for Dead fans everywhere; earlier this month SIRIUS Satellite Radio launched the all new Grateful Dead Channel. All Dead all the time. Nice.

Included in the new channel line-up will be rare and previously unreleased tunes, various shows hosted by remaining Dead members, and here’s the best part — archived interviews with our old friend Jerry.

If you want to get in on the action SIRIUS is offering a FREE three day online trial. That’s a cool way to see if it’s the right deal for you. Although if you’re a huge Dead fan it is the right deal for you.

Another way to contribute to the channel is to call 877-33-SIRIUS. Once you’re in, hit 32, and tell SIRIUS what you think should be playing on the channel. Ask about your favorite Dead shows or interviews or even share your favorite tune. Not like real Dead fans can narrow it down to a favorite one tune but still this is a nice option for sharing thoughts.

Today is Tuesday; if you sign up for the trial today then tomorrow (the 19th) you could be listening to…

Concerts!

  • 9/19 @ 3 am ET: 7/17/07 Columbus, OH (Bob Weir & Ratdog)
  • 9/19 @ Noon ET: 6/30/74 Springfield, MA (AUDIENCE MASTER)
  • 9/19 @ 9 pm ET: 12/15/86 Oakland, CA
  • The Oakland show is a good one bootleg pals. Each day three different concerts will be featured. And you can tune in to Today In Grateful Dead History every day at 7 am, 11 am and 7 pm ET. All in all a delightful situation.

To learn more and get your free three day trial visit the Grateful Dead Channel.

I love Grateful Dead! I have Sirius Radio but it’s discouraging to use when the music cuts off as you pass under power-lines.

I LOVE the Dead… Have you seen my video on here of Rubin & Cherise? It’s the ultimate best. And yes, the power line deal — that might be frustrating.
