Mick Jagger on NPR
On the heels of the Very Best of Mick Jagger release Mick made an interview appearance on NPR.
It’s been a long haul for Mick (45 years in the biz) so this interview is a highly interesting look into how one becomes a legend in the music business. My favorite part was right off the bat where when asked how his songs have lasted so long Mick notes, “I just played a lot… you keep banging away and it becomes a classic.” Cool; nice and simple. I like it.
The rest of the interview is a stellar listen as well plus of course there is the music to hear. I’m not the biggest Mick fan although I am a Stones fan but this interview was seriously enthralling because who else has been around so long with such a basic attitude. Over and over again he relates that all he’s doing is singing and playing — that’s all there is. Very good and I’d hit it today.
For a musician of the older persuasion he’s got a lot going on. This album and touring plus the much anticipated Shine A Light. I guess cheers are in order. Great job Mick!
