Lyric Game: Mid 70s Bliss

by Jennifer on August 26th, 2007

The last lyric game was won by the lovely and thrifty Deb who offers handy budget minded tips over at Simply Thrifty. Thrift is good fellow hippies — you can save money for shows! Deb got the correct answer of Carly Simon singing You’re So Vain.

Also, because I’m a slacker and forgot to give proper props — my boy Paticus won a game a while back so you should show him some respect by visiting his super cool all Dead all the time blog; Nothing Left To Do But Smile. It’s a good trip.

Now this week’s lyrics are very nice… When I hit San Francisco I listen to this album incessantly. It’s perfect Berkeley music. That there is your hint. If you need one more it’s the first track on an album with the same name.

This week’s lyrics:

His eyes were the color of the sand
And the sea
And the more he talked to me
The more he reached me
But I couldn’t let go of L.A.
City of the fallen angels

Guess away music lovers. Answers on Tuesday.

    Joni Mitchell never lied… ;)
    Court and Spark.

My friend Dave introduced me to that album… :)

Nice! You know I used this once a long time ago at another blog of mine and no one got it. I love this album and the song. It’s one of my all time favorite Joni songs — of course out of like 25 all time favorites. You rock.

Seriously, I would’ve never discovered it on my own, so I can totally understand that no one else got it. Had it not been for Dave, I surely wouldn’t have either! :)
