James Taylor Takes the Starbucks Plunge
Well, sorry I’ve been absent for a few days — life happens when you least expect it.
But there has been a ton of news! Not being sure where to start I will go with the whole James Taylor joining up with the Hear Music label.
He’ll be in good company. I recently posted about Joni and her album Shine coming to a Starbucks near you of course Paul MCCartney been with the label for a good long while now.
Taylor’s new Album, One Man Band is going to be a live show so that’s pretty cool. Additionally cool is that the CD is going to contain liner info with the stories behind some of Taylors best and most famous tunes. The set list is from Taylor’s Colonial Theater performances. No set release date; what I’m seeing around the web is “released in time for the holidays” hmmm, something a little more solid guys!
Anyway, no matter whenever it comes out it’ll be good. The album like all Hear Music albums will be available in Starbucks stores and good old regular venues.

Don’t hate me for saying this… okay?
But the same guy who used to play Joni Mitchell for me all the time tried to get me into James Taylor and I’m so sorry, but it never worked.
I can’t STAND his voice. Much like I can’t stand Dylan’s. The two voices are not the same, but both give me the same reaction, “CHANGE THE STATION!”

Uh oh, well, I guess if you still like un-cool me I can live. The James deal is fine; I’m a fan, but not a HUGE fan. But Dylan — you can’t stand? Now that is shocking. I suppose he does have a take it or leave it sort of voice. I love him though. But think he could have used more melody.

Maybe that’s what it is… I dunno. It’s just that nasal-y sound and that “I just got done drinking milk” sound (of Taylor’s) that make me cringe I guess. LOL

Me loves James Taylor. If I want to cry all I need to do is listen to “Fire and Rain.”
Oh wait, if he makes me cry is that a bad thing? Maybe subconsciously I hate his voice, lol. Nah!
But I can totallly see what Lara said about the whole “milky voice” thing. I almost peed my pants when I played a song to test her theory. :D

I love Fire & Rain.. that is a good song. I don’t see this milk quality you all speak of though? But I like that you almost peed your pants about it. Now that is hard core.

LOL Jeanne! I can’t imagine that but it’s funny!
Jennifer… imagine drinking a whole glass of milk, with your mouth and throat coated with it, and trying to sing with a milk bubble in your throat. THAT is what I’m talking about.
I’m telling you, the man drinks a LOT of milk. ;) LOL
