Is American Idol ruining Janis Joplin?
I’m not much for Idol lately, the novelty wore off years ago after the flat-out robbing of Chris Daughtry as winner (what the HECK were they thinking?). But my girls are looking for the next Sanjaya to make fun of during 3rd period math class so I was subjected to Idol’s mesmerizing (read: train wreck) auditions the other night.
Ergo I was dismayed to see so many of those who made it on TV defile our girl, Janis. Creepy wannabes with too much makeup and way too much time in front of a mirror pouted and belched up what they thought were the blues. Is Janis American Idol’s new audition flavor? Move over Stevie Wonder.
