Have You Covered The Beatles?
Not me. As we’ve established I have zip musical talent. But if you do it’s almost a sure bet that you have, at one point, dabbled in a Beatles cover. Why, because it’s cool to cover a band you love. I myself have had many a good time listening to my more music inspired friends sit around on the beach playing the likes of Dear Prudence.
The Beatles are one of the most, if not the most, covered band in the world. Rato over at Rato Records Blog say that they are, and he should know. Rato’s been dishing up memories and topics about the music of the 50s, 60s, and 70s for a good long while now.
Today he’s got a cool scene going on at his blog that reverses the cover love and discusses all the great tunes that The Beatles covered. He’s got tunes from the likes of Chuck Berry, Arthur Alexander, Buddy Holly, Peggy Lee, The Miracles, and The Marvelettes that you can listen to — both the original versions and the Beatles covers.
