Get Down with the The Music Channel
You know, I wasn’t the only music channel blogger dreaming up ideal party invite lists yesterday. Much of the channel jumped on this bandwagon. Just in case you missed yesterday’s fun here’s a round up.
Leonard Cohen, Ziggy Marley, Willie Nelson, and the flipping Polyphonic Spree all show up (among other oddballs) to the party at Our Digital Music. Dang, I’m going just to see what happens.
Crooner Culture has a party going on that’s a bit more subtle than the rest of the channel. Well, maybe. You know those kooky crooners. Who’s knows what might happen after a few mixers.
52 Bands invites everyone I’ve never heard of to this party — go see if you’re more on your musical game than I am.
Scott at Metal Martyr, as usual, comes up with his own clever take on the channel lists — noting who would suck at the office party with Lars Ulrich topping off as worst whiner. Good call.
Industrial Addiction has a party going on that I so would not fit in at. However, I might show just because the awesome old school Skinny Puppy is there.
The Rock Dose is actually partying all week but kicked things off with a particularly useful party quote from party man Ozzy.
Hot guys with hot dreads make the cut at Oz Music Scene. I’m so at this party. Oh, yeah and for the non dreadheads, the ultra cool and happening Wiggles make an appearance. Yikes.
Yanni, Enya, and other new age choices make this party at New Age Vibe one I won’t necessarily head straight over to; but still I am sort of curious about what they’d all talk about.
Ear Sucker always has the best eclectic mixes on the lists and this party list is no exception. I particularly agree with why Britney Spears is invited.
The Good Musician’s list notes, “There’s no Christmas without Wham!” which in my mind makes this the bravest list this go around. Go see who else besides Wham will be attending.
I’ve heard rumors that Hip Hop Roll has a party and even some guests throwing down. Not that I’ve seen it. But you have to remember that these lists posts are hard to organize; some people post later. I’d keep my eyes open for what is sure to be a great party.
Toronto Unplugged’s party is worth going to for Neil Young alone. But this party doesn’t stop there. Go visit to check out this clever mix of musicians.
The Beatles Invasion has a HUGE list of party people — all of whom I adore. Lots of dead hippies — perfect!
I’m out now but wishing you some party fun of your own.
