Friday Fun! (or the really depressing Friday night post)
Theoretically this made Friday fun time by exactly one minute — it’s 11:59 (west coast time). Technically however it’ll likely be Saturday when I post. But I figure I need some fun and “Friday fun” flows better than “Saturday fun.”
Since I work at home and unschool my son I try to get the bulk of my work (for the entire week) done Friday evening through Sunday evening. That’s when my son is normally off with his dad. This works well because then I get to hang with Cedar during the week but that means that my Friday fun consists of work — not so much fun in the normal sense. Don’t worry though; it’s not that bad. I do get the bulk of my week off and I’ve got my vinyls cranking so it’s chill. I just get little Friday fun jealousy pangs at the start of each weekend.
Anyhow maybe you still get to go out and have fun on Fridays — maybe a party or concert. If it’s a party I suggest you bring along this cool Vinyl Record Snack Tray from designer Jeff Davis.
This tray brightened my evening when I saw it so imagine the damage it could do at an actual get-together that involves more than a girl and her computer. These trays are created from actual vintage vinyl 12″ (nice) and comes in two luscious genre flavors; rock and one that my pal Lara over at Crooner Culture would like, crooners. I would take a rock one thank you.

That’s good news that you can email for a list because they have Springsteen listed under rock and if I ended up with that one this would no longer be fun.
If recycled vinyl’s not quite fun enough (it is Friday) then there’s always the Jamming Johns. There’s really not much you can say (read their story here) so I’ll just show you what they make…
Some of these are sold out and you wouldn’t believe some of the people on their client list. You might believe the Willie Nelson part though.
I don’t think it’s for me but I can see where there’s a market for them. If this is your kind of Friday fun learn more (and see more types) at Jamming Johns.
So, either you’re working like me or maybe just bored and thus this was fun for you — although if you’re bored, for pete’s sake go out already. OR you’re having the time of your life this Friday night and thus not reading this.
