Cool Threads for Small Hippies

I think that we sort of hope our kids like the music we do — it would make things easier. Six year old Cedar does like my music, to a point. He likes Joni (thank goodness), Bob Marley, and some others but I think he could do without the Beatles and Sublime. Still, it wasn’t that bad until he told me he wanted Kidz Bop for Christmas and that, “The Jonas Brothers are soooooo cool.”

He’s impressed to the ends of the earth because I can sing him Kids in America (the old school version) which the Jonas Brothers cover. But I doubt I’ll be impressing him much longer based on the line up of songs he likes right now. I guess you could say I’m lucky because he doesn’t like that Hanna Montana girl. Anyhow I do sort of miss when he was tiny and I could dress him in tye-dye and keep his hair long — it changes pretty fast.
