Video: Cat Stevens - Moonshadow

Anyone get followed by a moon shadow during the eclipse the other night? I fully admit I’m a lunatic and loved every minute that I could see (stupid snow showers) from here on the east coast. Sing it with me now-

New web toy: Musicovery

Gotta love this site! Musicovery is an interactive webRadio where by clicking the remote, moving the slider to the decade you wish and choosing the genre plus mood you’re in, you are given a selection of songs to play (and may download from Amazon) in that genre.
Groovy interface and appeals to the geek in […]

Joan Baez announces 2008 tour dates

I’m still reeling over the bitch-slapping incident between Joan and Joni Mitchell. Ok, it was more of a leg-breaking fantasy wrestling match by Joni but it sure would have sold tickets.
Our friend Joan is revvin’ up her engines for 2008’s tour dates in the U.S. Bra-burning is optional.

Danceoff! Me and Bobby McGee - Joplin vs. Grateful Dead

Got a ticket to ride? Beatles-themed hotel opens in Liverpool

Beatles fans are agog (yes, I’ve always wanted to use that word in a sentence) at the new 4-star Hard Days Night Hotel in Liverpool, England. The 110 room hotel outlines the Fab Four’s journey throughout their run as the world’s most popular band. Guests may stay in the Lennon suite, complete with […]

Hippie Chick Smackdown?

In an interview with Britain’s music magazine, Mojo, Joni Mitchell spoke of the rampant competition between she and her powerhouse contemporaries: Joan Baez and Janis Joplin. Doesn’t look like they embraced the whole “peace and love” vibe, eh?
“Janis Joplin was very competitive with me, very insecure. She was the queen of rock ‘n’ roll […]

Top Five Hippie New Year Resolutions

Not all resolutions are hastily written on cocktail napkins or on the hem of skirts at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve (wha?  Don’t tell me you never did).  I’ve discovered the lost resolutions of some of our favorite hippie gods and since most of them have already started truckin’ down a one-way […]
